On October 10th at the annual Hands Touching Hearts Across the Water fundraising dinner, 180 guests learned first-hand the strong impact Heart for Orphans is having on orphan teens in Ukraine. The inspirational program included testimonials given by the members of the 2015 Vision Trip, the release of new videos and a guest appearance by Maxim, the teen orphan brought to the U.S. by Heart for Orphans for life-saving surgery. The focus of one of the new videos, A Hope and a Future, is on the importance of children needing a family in order to survive in our world today. This video can be viewed on the Heart for Orphans website. In a lite moment, guests learned that over 50 gallons of soup, 98 loaves of bread and 950 pounds of potatoes are consumed in one week by the families in our homes.

In addition, guests enjoyed delectable appetizers, a live jazz band, and a delicious dinner catered by Chef Steve Flanary. A fun time was had when guests tried to outbid each other as they vied for the 8 auction items. In the end, more than $62,000 was raised to help Heart for Orphans continue its mission to help orphans and orphan teens.

A big thank you to Gerry and Patsy Swecker for volunteering their home for this event.
