Meet Karina...
She is the newest member of Anastasia’s House, a Heart for Orphans Transition Home in Ukraine. Karina is a sweet, gentle girl who loves cooking and caring for babies and small children. Like many of our teens, Karina was orphaned when she was a child. Sadly, she has no memory of her early life. she can’t even remember why or when she was abandoned. The only thing she remembers is being separated from her parents–lost–and ending up in a shelter for abandoned children. Karina was lonely and scared. She hoped one day her parents would find her and take her home, but they never came. Some years later her mother and father finally came to visit, and so did her aunts and uncles, but no one wanted to bring her home. Yes, she had food and a place to sleep, but her need to be loved… respected and encouraged… was missing.
Karina survived the orphanage, graduated at 16, and moved into a trade school dorm. It was there she met Natasha, a Heart for Orphans housemother and was invited to live at Anastasia’s House. Since joining the family Karina’s life has changed. She has grown very close to the small children in the family, and they love her like a sister! House parents Natasha and Sergey even introduce her as “their daughter.” Karina said, “I am so thankful for this home and this family. They love me, and they brought me to the Lord! Now I have faith in Jesus, and that is the most important thing.” Karina no longer feels abandoned, but safe and secure in her new home.
Every day YOUR support helps orphaned teens just like Karina.
In October we were blessed with a wonderful fundraiser that raised one-third of our budget. Monthly donors supply another third of our budget. Would you help us raise that final third by becoming a monthly donor? Or would you help us close that gap with your end-of-year giving? There are many more Karina’s that need your help–would you do what you can to give them a home and the love of family?
Thank you for your support and for being part of our giving family.
